An Android app that controls NAPTIFY Client running on your home PC from your phone, and plays videos and music from the PC’s files. The phone does not connect to OpenNap servers directly; all operations go through NAPTIFY Client on the PC.

Library
Browse the shared files and the download folder on the PC, including files being downloaded.
Video and music playback
Seeking, switching audio and subtitles, and resuming. Music keeps playing with the screen off and can be controlled from the lock screen and the notification. Lyrics are supported.
Archives, images and text
Browse and play inside ZIP and RAR files like folders. Open images and text files full screen.
Save to the phone and download
Save videos and music to the phone and play them without connecting to the PC. Other files are saved to the Download folder.
Transfers, search, channels and IM
Download and upload lists, search and starting downloads, channel messages and members, and IM.
Notifications
Notifies you of IMs, download requests from others, completed downloads and keywords. Choose which ones to receive for each PC.
Away from home
Away from home, connect in one of these ways.
- Port forwarding — Available when the data port of NAPTIFY Client on the PC (the same port used for transfers) can be reached from outside. Only the data port needs to be opened.
- VPN (Tailscale, etc.) — Use this when your line cannot open ports (CGNAT, DS-Lite, etc.). Connect both the PC and the phone to the VPN.
When the PC’s IP address changes, the PC encrypts the new address and sends it to the phone through the same mechanism as notifications. Addresses are never registered in DNS.
External connections
Besides the connection to the PC, the app makes these connections.
- Notifications — Uses Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). The PC sends only a signal to the phone through a relay on naptify.net. The relay only delivers it and stores nothing.
- Lyrics — Only when you press the lyrics button, the track title, folder names and track length are sent to LRCLIB to search for lyrics. Lyrics are not stored; they stay in memory only while the app is running.
